We’ve been working on a project to review and improve information for people starting a business. Earlier this year I joined the Government Digital Service (GDS) for a few days to focus on this new content.
In January 2015 we went to the GDS Content Design Conference. This event showed there’s high demand for getting the government content design community together.
For the past 3 months, I've taken time out from my role in Enterprise Directorate comms to do a keep digital dive of my skills with the BIS digital team.
Each week we publish or update a wide range of departmental and policy pages on GOV.UK. These include publications, consultations, detailed guidance, statistics, transparency data, and much more.
I am a full supporter of GOV.UK. I love the way content is presented: if you’re a citizen or business coming from Google and wanting a straightforward, well written answer – you get it.
Inside Government is now home to 24 ministerial departments and 32 other departments and public bodies. A huge amount of work has gone into this transition, but there's even more still to do.
The Land Registry has recently started helping their staff adopt plain English in anticipation of their move to GOV.UK.
